The trip to the King Otto stalactite cave was worth the long journey from Munich. The cave is a little hidden in the woods at St. Colomann near the town of Velburg. If you arrive early, there are not many people out, and you get a wonderful guided walk thru.
In the cave it is allowed to take some pictures - even with flash. The lady which was our cave-guide, explained us everything about the origin and discovery of the cave, the stalacmites, the stalactites and the stalacnates in a very pleasant way (and if children are present, also in a child-friendly manner). The tour lasts about 1 hour and so there is so much to see
