On March 30, 2014, we did a day-trip as a „season-opener“ heading to Hassberge - Steigerwald. Our tour guide was Martin Preuss. We met at the roadhouse „Tennenlohe“, drove to the „Großen Georgenberg“, where we had a little rest, and then we drove back over „Höchstadt a.d. Aisch“. The tour was about 310 km long. The tour was recorded with GPS-Tracks. On the left side you can see an overview of the tour and if you want to retrace this tour, you can download the KML file.
Due to the very good weather forecast, Hans-Willy and Martin decided to have a little ride across the area with their motorcycles on the weekend. Because some friends and colleagues heard about it and wanted to join them - Martin quickly decided to plan a day-trip around the Franconian Switzerland, „Oberfranken, Südthüringen, Hassberge, Steigerwald“.
We started our tour at the roadhouse „Tennenlohe“ at 13:00. From where we drove to „Tennenlohe - Buckenhof (Erlangen) - Marloffstein - Langen Sendelbach - Effeltrich - Kunreuth - Kirchehrenbach - Pretzfeld - Ebermannstadt - Unterleitner - Heiligenstadt i. OFr. - Königsfeld - Wattendorf - Bad Staffelstein - Großheirath - Sesslach - Ummerstadt“ and „Heldburg“ where we had a rest at the „Biergarten“ / picnic area „St. Georgenberg“ with parking area at the watch tower "Henneberger Warte";.
Around 16:00, after we had some snacks at the „Biergarten“, we drove on to „Westhausen - Streudorf - Simmershausen - Zeilfeld - Römhild - Eicha - Trappstadt - Sulzdorf an der Lederhecke - Hofheim i. UFr. - Hassfurt - Knetzgau - Unter-/Oberschleichach - Fatschbrun - Prölsdorf - Schönbrunn i. Steigerwald - Burgebrach - Pommersfelden - Höchstadt a.d. Aisch“ and „Weisendorf“. There we had a last short stop to say goodbye to each other. Now the group dissolved and everyone took his own way home. I drove to „Herzogenaurach“ and from there back home to „Fürth“.
For me it was a very nice „season-opening“-tour. Exactly the right trip to start with. Once again, also from my side, a big thank you to Martin for planning and leading this tour. [Tour-Martin-Preuss-no .: 51]
